Denim // Sparkle

I pulled off this combination of denim and an asymmetrical skirt in this post {here}. I loved the darling combo so much, I decided to wear it with a flair LBD and added a little sparkle with the sequin skinny belt. There's nothing like an outfit on repeat.

What are some of your favorite combinations?

Fifty Shades of Blue

I tend to wear the color blue more often than not, simply because blue is my favorite color. I wore this outfit to school to take "Best Dressed" senior superlative pictures with this guy (told you he'd win). After feeling inspired by other fashion bloggers' take on different shades of blues, I decided to throw in a vintage polka-dotted scarf, and before I could stop myself, I was already grabbing this clutch on the way out the door.

P.S. There's been some hardships in my life lately and as a high school senior, it's almost surreal how close all of this (high school) is to being over. I'm already a second semester senior and if I can wait four years for graduation, then five months should be nothing. Happy Monday!

Hello Friday { + Giveaway }

My hair has definitely gotten longer, and these shots were before my haircut / highlights, so don't assume my hair magically grew like 3 inches! Every so often, my sister and I like to find a unique location to take a photo-shoot together. One of our many sister bondings. {insert: hashtag itsafashionbloggerthing }
We found this lake in a neighborhood far from home, and the next thing we know we're parked on the curb taking "artsy" shots (as my sister likes to refer to them as). I must say, it's not often that I wear the color green. In fact, it's pretty rare...so don't get so used to it.

P.S. Also wearing my Firmoo aviators: check out my review for them { here }

It's Plum-thing Special

Ever find yourself loving a different type of style that you didn't think you could pull off? When I was younger, I was all for the pearls, bright colored tights, red peacoats, plaid button-downs, and all things that screamed 'preppy'. Gossip Girl was quite the inspiration and I wanted nothing more to be like Blair Waldorf in her Constance years. As I've gotten older, my style has evolved. Lately, I've been wearing my sneaker wedges more often than not and even dared to try plum lips after being inspired by different fashion blogs {mentioned here}. Sure, I still wear my pearls to mix it up, here and then. But it's truly amazing to see how your style can unfold over the years.

P.S. You can definitely see my new highlights in these photos.

Msdressy Giveaway

When the online store Msdressy contacted me saying that they wanted to collaborate with me to further my blog, I was beyond excited. I spent countless hours checking out their website on all the beautiful prom dresses and cocktail dresses for Homecoming dances. As a high school senior, having a prom dress already situated financially eased some stress for me as I was applying to college over the last few months.

With that being said, I would like to share a wonderful giveaway organized in collaboration with Msdressy. Msdressy is giving away an $80 gift card to one of my readers! Follow these simple rules below to win:

Layer On

One of the best things about fall / winter is the ability to layer on everything. Metaphorically speaking. Despite the deceiving sunlight and blooming roses in these shots, the weather was slightly chilly. Fayetteville comes off as a bipolar location for weather and people. I paired this darling Quinn necklace from Suzie Kelly Jewelry over a plaid button-down and a blue sweater. It's unfortunately sold out at the moment but there are a ton more on her site. { hint hint: Audrey Bib is to die for }

Wearing: Forever 21 plaid button-down (old), Emporio Armani sunglasses, 1960 vintage Nikon film camera, Suzie Kelly Jewelry necklace, Forever 21 tweed trouser shorts (old), Target fuchsia heels, Urban Outfitters spike bracelet, DIY rings, Forever 21 leather jacket

Crème de la Crème

After seeing these crème de la crème shirts everywhere on fashion blogs, Instagram, google, etc., I just knew I had to have one. I found the cotton-blend terry sweatshirts on Net-A-Porter and my mouth dropped at the pricing. $160 for a shirt?! Instead, I saw this DIY tutorial while scourging the internet on another fashion blog. One of my best friends, Elise and I decided to spend one afternoon purchasing gray sweaters from Forever 21 and block letters from A.C. Moore (this is a great DIY project to do with a bunch of gals, by the way) and did exactly what Dale from Savvy Spice did {here}. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

P.S. You can find your inspiration anywhere. You just have to know where to look.

Anyone know any other DIYs they'd like to share? I'd love to see more!

Winter Blues

Lately, I've been obsessing over this black + blue combo. For those of you who follow me on Pinterest, I've been pinning a lot of color combinations in the past few weeks. Like I said: obsessed.
I paired this peplum top over a holiday dress and threw on my favorite eye-popping cobalt blue heels from Target and finished the look with a red lip.

Black Out

Lately, I've been wearing leather jackets, sneaker wedges, and black combinations longer than I can care to remember. A few weeks ago, I purchased a new Revlon plum lipstick from Target after feeling inspired by Rachel Parcell @ Pink Peonies {one of my daily reads-- so obsessed with her amazing style}. I wore this all black attire to school {minus the beret, plum lip + RayBans} and I'm pretty sure someone in the hallway told me they liked my edgy style. Total compliment. I'll take it.

Happy Friday! Have a splendid weekend.

Life is Ruff(le)

Over the years, I have grown fond of this black top from H&M. It's comfy, soft, and versatile in so many ways. I especially love the ruffly sleeves that make a statement. On this breezy winter day, I paired ombré jeans with black boots to complete the look. Chic, and yet so effortless.
