A Memorable Weekend

{ follow me on instagram: @bygracelee }

As I mentioned in my last post { here }, I spent Memorial Day with my family at the lake. The weather was perfect enough to wear a gingham button-down and my favorite Ann Taylor LOFT dress. I spent the lazy afternoon walking through trails, avoiding all sorts of bugs (I hate nature!), eating watermelons, and reading a Nicholas Sparks book (on the tablet) with a beautiful view. There was the right amount of sun and breeze. Juuuust right. Just like my weekend.

How did you spend your Memorial Day weekend?

Down By the Lake

Memorial Day weekends in the Lee household are always spent outdoors.
I've noticed in years past that we're either having BBQ cookouts, traveling to cities to shop (like last year) or just soaking up the sun. Today, my family and I are having a picnic at a nearby lake. I'm looking forward to eating fruit, dipping our toes in the water, taking photos and attempting to play recreational sports outdoors.

I spent the better half of Saturday afternoon at a graduation party of a girl who graduated from Village Christian Academy. Her backyard was the lake (umm, jealous?!), and I'm not one to pass up an opportunity for a fun photo-shoot with friends.

How are you spending your Memorial Day weekend?

Last weekend I mentioned attending Village Christian Academy graduation. SO proud!

Billie Jean Jacket

Of course, like any other person, I always look forward to Fridays. The start of a weekend excites me like none other. I'm attending graduation for Village Christian Academy tonight for a bunch of my gal pals. It kind of feels like a sneak peek of what's to come at my graduation which is in two weeks. Can't wait to see them walk across that stage tonight!
Also, I can't believe it's already Memorial Day weekend. Have these months flown by or what? Though I'm not sure what my plans for this three-day weekend are, I'm sure I'll be winging them like all the tests and finals I've encountered these past two weeks. Hey, I'm already going to college...I'm graduating...and senioritis is real.
That is all.

P.S. I was so convinced that my hair was parted down the middle, but these pictures proves otherwise. Ugh, the disappointment.

2 Shirts

It's quite unusual to see me layered in two shirts...ever. Especially if it's not fall or winter.
But a couple of weeks ago, the weather was in the 70's with a cool breeze that made it feasible to layer up. Also, I bought these amazing Zara lookalike heels not too long ago and I couldn't resist matching head to toe.

Proud? You should be.

Best for Last

Last Thursday was the annual Global Studies Spring Dinner hosted at the Fort Bragg Officer's Club. I've attended this formal dinner ever since I was a freshman in high school. But this year as a senior, I received my Global Studies stole for graduation and even got the honor to say a speech. As I was enjoying this last and final dinner with my senior gals around the table, reality hit me then and there. This is it. After a routine of four years, I realized that yes, everyone complained about having to attend a formal dinner and shaking hands with important people and having to dress up (who complains about that, honestly), but when else would I ever be surrounded by classmates and friends that I've grown up with for many years? Chances like these don't come often. I'm so thankful to have attended the same high school all four years and I am also thankful to be graduating from it in 17 days.
I'm ready to start the next chapter of my life...beyond Fayetteville.

And the best part? I'm taking my blog with me.

P.S. Just wait until you see my graduation dress...
