A Sail of Two Cities

While heading back home to Fayetteville from Chapel Hill, my mom and I took an impromptu trip to the lake for a serene and relaxing view to kick off the weekend. The lake scene was much needed. All I've been doing is stressing lately and...I'm anticipating Fall Break more than ever right now (two more weeks!).
And after this weekend, I've decided to put away my straw boater hat and bring out the woolen felt hat. Yes, seasonal hat changes are also a thing.

P.S. How nifty are these iKen watches? iKen watches allow you to build your own watch and combine different color combinations and well...everyone knows I'm a sucker for color combos.

Like, Oh My Dot!

Sometimes, I stare at a dress in my closet and then ask the very question: "how else can I wear this dress?"
I gave it a minute or two, the typical lightbulb flicked on, and then I settled for this unexpected layering that just worked out so well together. Summer layers are usually hard to piece together since the humidity is no joke in Fayetteville, but it was just the right amount of layering to pull off. I paired a white denim vest over this polka-dotted dress (if you remember here) and then finished the look with this belt that may or may not have been "borrowed" from my sister's closet.

So yes, I am in fact having a 'like, oh my dot!' moment.
How great are unexpected layers?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Teal the Moment

Believe it or not, I had this darling color-coordinating outfit in mind last week while reorganizing my favorite tassel bracelets from Love Andrea's Closet in my room. I unexpectedly paired these yellow and teal tassels and before I knew it, I was standing in front of my closet whipping out this old favorite winter dress of mine and my Hunters wellies. And now all I simply needed was rain.
Thankfully, my wish came true this past weekend.
Don't you just love it when things work out?

^ also, this is the outfit I was referring to when I tweeted. Just saying.

P.S. I won't be posting this week! Sorry y'all. I have 2 big midterm college exams coming up next week and I only have one thing on my mind: study study study!
But after that, I promise I'll be back to blawg blawg blawg!

Summer Isn't Over Just Yet

This is basically a summer post, considering the fact that I'm holding a bouquet of sunflowers. Sometimes, I overlook the photos that I have in my albums and this was one of those times. I completely forgot I had taken these a few (ahem, maybe more than a few) weeks back and I'm feeling the need to hurry and post them before Fall really hits and these photos become...well, irrelevant.

Plaid on Plaid

F A L L.
When you say jackets, I say blazers.
When you say stripes, I say plaid.
And when you say hot cocoa, I say pumpkin spice lattes.

When the weather gets cooler and Fall season rolls around, a few things come to mind. Out of habit, I almost always reach for my favorite plaid blazer to commence the colder seasons to come. It's the perfect shade of red and matches my Prada. Double win.
Also, thank you Wild Butterfly Boutique for sending me this beautiful teardrop necklace! I'm a total sucker for statement necklaces and this shade of turquoise seems compatible with a variety of colors.

What's your favorite Fall staple?

 { enjoying a pumpkin spice latte while blogging. Little pleasures }
