Gone for the Week...

With high school coming to an end, the months seem to just fly by. Which is exactly what I'm been experiencing as of late. All I know is May and June are about to be the busiest / craziest two months
for me and every other high school senior. I'm not sure if I'm ready to handle all that just yet.
I'm graduating on June 6th, and before that can all happen, I need to take my finals, AP exams, attend two proms, graduation parties, and focus on finishing strong with my senior year academics. So, I just wanted to let all my sweet readers know that I won't be uploading any outfit posts this week.
I'm super stoked about the first prom I'm attending this weekend though. You can come follow along on Instagram to see what I'm wearing and all the other deets. Can't wait to share those pictures with you!

127 Flowers

Fact: There is a huge garden full of blooming flowers located at the side of my house.
While wearing this floral dress (and yes, it's a dress with a skirt paired over it) over the weekend, I instantly remembered such a place existed. Speaking of weekend, this weekend is the Dogwood Festival in downtown Fayetteville, NC. And I'm thrilled to say the least. I'm looking forward to spending time with my gals in this mini Coachella-esque festival. There will be tons of music, great food, and a huge, grassy green field called Festival Park that will just hit the spot.

Have a splendid weekend!

There's No Place Like Chrome

I am a firm believer that a TV show can definitely influence your style. During Gossip Girl episodes, I was all for colored tights, bow headbands, and peacoats. It's quite embarrassing really, to reflect back on old photos and see a bunch of bright mustard and blue (and pink) tights that I wore on a daily basis. What was I thinking? Forehead slap.
Now that I'm hooked on The Vampire Diaries, I've noticed their obsession with leather jackets has also affected my choice of attire. With my personal twist of pearls and red Chanel lipstick, of course.

Hey Weekend

I spent the majority of this past weekend planning out the next few events happening in my life.
April 26th - Varsity Chorus Concert
May 2nd - Senior Project Night
May 4th - Jack Britt Prom
May 11th - My Senior Prom at FTS

I've always noticed that May seems to be the most hectic month for seniors. Not only are finals in May, but so are graduation practices, meeting college deadlines, figuring out where I'm going to college, getting out graduation announcements, and prom(s). (I'm going to 2 proms this year--eek!)
How I'm planning on being sane through the next few months is beyond me!

P.S. A few people have asked me how I curled my hair-- I use a 1" curling iron like a wand! It works exactly the same.
{ just a few months ago, I was at 762 followers. Thank you for all the support--it's definitely my biggest motivation :) find me on instagram! }

Stripes on Repeat

Ever since { my sister Rebecca } lent me this J.Crew striped top, I've been wearing it with nearly everything so I can "use it up" until I have to return it. Is it just me or does anyone else do that? Anyway, I've found different ways to pair this top. Sometimes, I opt for a red skirt and sometimes I opt for navy trouser pants that portray a monochromatic look...until I add a red puffy vest, that is.

Spring Mix: Lace + Leather

There is no denying that I am obsessed with leather jackets.
So when I came across this gray top with leather sleeves and a leather pocket, I caved. But only because it was about $14, and you don't simply "walk away" from great deals like that (and...this is why I'm a shopaholic. Everything to me is a "good deal").
Along with my list of obsessions, I am loving the baseball cap trend I've been seeing lately. I decided to play up a sporty chic look by adding my favorite Hello Fab pearl necklace and a pair of sparkly sneaker wedges for a finishing touch.

This is pure comfy and casual wear for any given weekend.

Rainy Day Sparkle

On any rainy day, I like to snuggle up under my cozy bed sheets with a good book and hot mug of coffee. Or if not a good book, I opt for my laptop and keep myself entertained with TV shows / movies (or Pinterest). But unfortunately, school doesn't stop for rainy days. So to brighten up this gloomy day, I pulled out this vintage London rain jacket, added a sequin skinny belt, and a pair of leggings for some comfort. Simple is best, right?
