Orange Is The New Black

Ask anyone that knows me and they'll tell you how festive I get when it comes to any holiday. In middle school, I showed up to school on Halloween rocking these two colors: black + orange and let me just leave it at that. Of course back then, I did not have any sense of style and I'm pretty sure I was wearing orange soffee shorts (shudder)... so I cannot will not show any sort of pics. Also, don't even let me get started with Christmas. At a Christmas party, let's just say that I may or may not have been wearing green tights... that is all.

Leather jackets are my sole staple in the colder months and what better way to celebrate Halloween, then with a little style?

P.S. What is everyone dressing up as for Halloween?!
I usually opted for Blair Waldorf, Cher from Clueless, Nancy Drew...anything fashion-related but this year...

well, you'll see.
I'll be posting pics on instagram! Follow along: @bygracelee

Blog Collab: Trench Coats

Today Taylor from Little Blonde Book and I have teamed up to show you how we style our trench coats for Fall. Ever since this darling lady reached out to me, I knew we just had to collaborate on a trend. She's seriously the cutest gal and since we're not too far from each other, hopefully we'll meet up soon. Fingers crossed!

I love the juxtaposition of our two styled trench coats. I decided to add my touch of 'lady-like' and opted for a gingham button-down paired with these matchy-matchy heels and a red lip. I am loving Taylor's statement necklace paired with simple basics and sneakers that adds a bit of a "casual glam" feel to it.
P.S. I recently bought a new red lipstick and I am in L O V E .

Head on over to her blog here to see more photos of her outfit!

Put A Bow On It

....which I literally did.
I love when I purchase new pants or skirts that come with a belt because that way, I almost always end up taking them off and mixing them up in different ways. For instance, this Carolina blue ribbon belt added a nice little touch paired with this khaki vest and a cobalt blue dress which...I never for once thought I could pull off with a vest.

Unexpected combos are the best. Can I get an amen?

Gingham Gal

When Liz from White Plum Boutique contacted me asking if I could cover the gingham trend for Fall, I was more than thrilled. For starters, I've always wanted a black gingham button-down. This button-down has the comfort of a cotton tee, and it is so easy to layer with sweaters and coats in the colder months. I know for sure that this will certainly become a fall/winter staple, simply because of the fact that it's been on repeat for a couple of days now. #noshameinmygame

Lately, I've been hunting for more gingham prints (preferably blue + pink) online. I just cannot get enough.
Who else is gaga for gingham?

North By NorthFace

Sometimes, when I look through other blogs for my daily dose of inspiration (besides Pinterest), I find the need to "create my own style." I always feel like I need to add more layers, or more accessories, a lip color, ooh-throw-in-a-hat kind of thing. But sometimes, we can all do with a little simple look: matching yellow Hunters wellies and a Northface yellow rain jacket.
So cheers to basics. And the fact that it's Friday.
