Armed & Readi Trunk Show

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to host an Armed & Readi trunk show at the ADPi house here at UNC-Chapel Hill. As a Brandi for the Armed & Readi program, I sell A&R jewelry on campus. You can learn more about how to become a Brandi, by simply clicking here.

Sidenote: the outfit I wore to the trunk show will be up on the blog tomorrow as well as an exciting surprise that me and Elizabeth of Book of Leisure and Brenna of Chic Street Style have been working for almost two months on! Cannot wait to share! Make sure to stop by tomorrow to see what it is ;)

Please excuse my crazy eyes here - the flash was a little too bright haha!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Coral + Turquoise

Random fact: I used to have a Pinterest board dedicated to the coral + turquoise color combo. There was something about this bright and unexpected combination that always seemed so appealing to me. Maybe it was the bright colors or maybe because it's just a fun combination to try. That, I will never know. But what I do know is, it's a color combination I want to definitely wear again in the near future. I'm really loving how well the turquoise heels complement my statement earrings. #matchymatchy

I was kind of hesitant on trying the midi dress trend. Truth is, I had intended to take outfit pictures with the dress folded up (you'll see those pictures when I post the second half of this collaboration on Friday) just because I was unsure of the feedback I would receive. I do care about what you readers think about my outfits and posts, and this is something I struggle with most of the time. #workingonit
But if my blog has taught me anything, it's that you don't have to look a certain way to rock a trend. So what if you're short? I'm short. As long as you feel good in what you wear, and rock it with confidence, that's all that matters.

Sorry for my little style preaching there, haha! But all in all, I'm living proof that you can be short and still rock this midi dress. Side note: my favorite part about this dress is the gathered detailing at the neckline.

What are your thoughts on this color combination? Would you ever try it?

The Story of Citrus

When ModCloth asked me to create an inspiration board based around the 'The Story of Citrus Dress,' I was all on board (pun intended). For starters, I've been a sucker for ModCloth clothing in the past. Remember these here + here + here?
{ CLICK the picture to shop the items! }

1. How cute is this Hello Sunshine case? . It had me at the gold lettering and the bright, yellow case.
2. I love a black hat + booties combo. It's a Fall uniform for me.
3. I opted for a bright lip to complete this look.
4. A gold watch is such a timely piece.
5. I'm a sucker for photography, so I opted for a camera necklace. It's seriously too cute.
6. I have these booties from a different boutique last year and the gold buckles on the side are amazing.
7. I love the round sunnies look.
8. I thought these rose studs matched perfectly with the Citrus dress.

I wore this casual look for a blackout game day wear here at UNC-Chapel Hill a few weeks ago.
{ seen here + here } I received a lot of feedback on my curly wrapped high ponytail and was even thinking about doing a hair tutorial for it on YouTube... which by the way, I am going to really, and I mean really, start incorporating videos into my blog as well. #babysteps

I've seen this open-back scalloped tank in a lot of boutiques over the summer, and fell in love with this one. Mainly because I don't own any simple black tanks, which is really a basic staple for any girl's wardrobe so I've been slacking in that area (haha), and I really needed one!

Wearing: tank: Impressions Boutique c/o | boyfriend shorts: Forever 21 OBSESSED! | booties: Impressions Boutique c/o | lipstick: Revlon's 'Berry Couture' | sunglasses: Ray Bans c/o | earrings + necklace + bracelet: Armed & Readi c/o | watch: Timex c/o |

Have a great weekend!

Collage Tutorial + rewardStyle Links

Today, I'm sharing a tutorial that may be of some help to you fashion bloggers.
I used to wonder myself how other bloggers made their collages look so polished and well-put together, so today I'm spilling my secret!

Also, I link my collages up with rewardStyle so the picture is click-able and easier to shop for you readers!
{ seen here + here + here + in yesterday's post if you missed it here }

1. I use Polyvore to create my sets. After making an account, go to the 'Create' button at the top and click 'Set'.

2. Your screen should show a blank screen and these tabs on the side. I went ahead and played around with a few of my favorite fonts. You can pick fonts under the Embellishments 'Text' near the bottom right. You can also use arrows under the '123' arrow pointing upwards on the bottom row.

3. Now, as for piecing my items together, I typed in 'J.Crew quilted vest' under the Search tab and dragged the item onto my screen. You can choose the sizing of the font as well! Sometimes, I come to Polyvore just to browse the clothing, and that's okay to do also. It happens more often than not when I'm procrastinating and I'll just browse for hours and hours. #guilty - HA!
Just click one of the tabs and you'll find a ton of great pieces for great prices that you sometimes won't find on rewardStyle!

4. Now that you've seen how to put the set together, get as creative as you like! Use fonts, search for accessories, and move it around to make it look clean and polished.
When you're satisfied with your end result (I used this set from one of my recent posts here as an example), go ahead and publish it onto Polyvore.
Then I screenshot it by holding down Command + Shift + 4 together and cropping it how I like.

5. Now that we're done with Polyvore, go to rewardStyle. Under the 'Apps' at the top, click on 'Money Spot.'

(unfortunately, I had to take down the rewardStyle shots I posted earlier, but if you have any questions, please please please shoot me an email and I'd love to explain it! Sorry!)

6. Go ahead and 'upload' the photo you screenshotted (or saved) of the Polyvore set.

7. For the 'Moneyspot Type' I usually opt for the 'Invisible Hotspots' which means when you hover over the item in the picture, you won't see any lines. But if you click on 'Show Hotspots on Hover,' you'll see a faint image that you can draw around the item. I hope that made sense... I even put together a collage on what the 'Icon' type and the 'Hotspots' type looks like below:

8. Last but not least, you can crop your items and link them using rewardStyle. The 'Select a Product' screen will automatically pop up when you crop your item.

9. No, this is the last one, I promise haha. After, save the widget and copy the code below and paste it into your HTML of your blog post draft and then publish.

You're all done!

Hope this tutorial helps! I'm not one to make tutorials, but if there's anything else you would like to know, please feel free to shoot me an email {} if you have any more questions or if you want to leave me feedback! I'm always available to talk :)
Thanks for stopping by!

SheInside Fall Picks

Since Fall is my favorite season and I've avidly expressed it a copious amount of times on my blog (if you've been following along), you will probably see a lot of Fall inspiration looks that I'll so often put together this season. Two things I am seriously loving are leather pants and sweaters. I'm swooning over these pieces from SheInside

Style Tip #1: I would style the royal blue cropped sweater with a white button-down and those leather pants paired with ankle booties.
Style Tip #2: I would style the red cable knit sweater with the leather pants and possibly a black felt hat.
Style Tip #3: I would style the black collar dress with tan ankle booties + a plum lip and a pair of oversized Karen Walker sunnies.

I've already busted out my favorite pair yesterday because it was already 59° ;)

How would you style these pieces?

P.S. I've made shopping more convenient for you guys! You can simply hover over any of the items on this picture and "click" to shop!

Thanks for stopping by!
