NC SBS Meet-Up Recap

I attended the NC SBS Meet-Up at Kendra Scott - Southpoint in Durham two weeks ago.
Last year's meet-up was so much fun and I couldn't wait to reunite with my NC blogger gal pals / meet new ones. I was particularly excited to meet Courtney from The Dainty Darling because we've been virtual friends for so long, and I couldn't wait to finally meet her IRL. After an entire night of swooning over KS jewels, sipping on cocktails (maybe even double-fisting), and talking about blogging, I have to say that Courtney and I are pretty much the same person and I love how well we instantly connected!

You probably saw some funny moments over on my snapchat that night. Ha.

P.S. I'll be posting my look from the event soon! I'm currently in the middle of finals week, so please bear with me for the next few days!

On another note, if you haven't seen me rant about it on Twitter yet, my phone is currently broken.
I'm trying to stay positive about it and see if as a good thing so it won't be distracting me during finals week. #currentlywantingtobangmyheadagainstthewall #STRESS

Spring Dresses

flirty // stripes // statement // ruffled hem // floral //
chambray // ruffled sleeve // print // colorblock dress // lace //

LDOC (Last Day of Classes) is something worth celebrating about.
Usually around this time of year, I am always burned out by the amount of stress college gives me. Seriously.
Every year, my friends and I get super excited over the festivities that go down on that night. I like to get a head start on planning my outfits for the big day. It's one less thing to stress about, that's for sure.

I really want to wear a dress this year for LDOC, so I rounded up a few Spring dresses that would make for the perfect outdoor occasion.
What are your favorites?

Pops of Mint + Life Update!

aviators // tassel earrings // rings // Kate Spade watches // Furla satchel bags //
Free People tanks // slim boyfriend jeans // Kenneth Jay Lane jewelry // mules // Kate Spade phone cases //

I have an explanation for what's different about today's post.
I'm heading into finals week starting next week.

In order to really focus on my academics and upcoming exams, I will not be able to blog my usual outfits. Sad face. But I have decided to still continue uploading my latest favorite trends and looks through my wishlist collages, so I don't completely fall off the blogosphere. I feel as though it is important to still connect with you all, and I just feel it will work out better this way. I want to still be able to continue blogging, and this really does pain me to be taking a "blogging break" from my outfits, but please bear with me for the next couple of days!!!

Even though I am not participating in today's What I Wore Wednesday link-up today OR next week's, I just want to remind you that my lovely two co-hosts Elizabeth and Brenna ARE. Make sure to head on over to their blogs to add your link!

Thanks for stopping by! I really do appreciate the comments and feedback.
I love reading through all of them at the end of the day :)

Spring Pieces

fringe bags // Star Mela bags // Rebecca Minkoff bags // Tory Burch tote bags //
Kate Spade phone cases // mugs // Mara Hoffman espadrilles //
Tory Burch sandals // Hunter umbrellas // Sam Edelman shoes // candles //

My problem with creating wishlist collages is the fact that I just want to buy. everything.
I think it goes without saying that online shopping is every fashion hoarder's dream come true and a nightmare for the wallet. Dream come true meaning... what better way is there to shop your favorite stores and brands while wearing PJ's with a messy bun and a glass of wine? It really doesn't get any better than that.

I've rounded up a few Spring pieces that are (somewhat) budget friendly and just too cute to pass up.
P.S. Why yes, that is indeed a pineapple candle. SOLD.

What are your favorite items?

I'm all for comfort on the weekends.
Ever since I've seen flare jeans (loving the dark denim style as well), overalls, and denim skirts making a comeback this season, I couldn't help but dig up my old denim skirts from my middle school days and try them on just to reminisce on old trends. If denim mini aren't really your style, here are also some different denim skirt styles that I'm loving.

Not only do they fit just right (still), but I also forgot how comfortable they were. I opted for this black top (I'm obsessed with the back! - more black tops here) and my favorite summer hat (more hats here) for a long drive back to Chapel Hill last weekend. A Starbucks coffee stop was necessary.

If you guys want to try a new Starbucks drink, I definitely recommend the Oprah cinnamon chai latte. It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
For those who have tried it, do you like it?! I'd love to hear what you think!

Jogger Blogger Life

Jogger pants and I are having a moment. Can you tell?
I wanted to add some color into this look while styling the joggers, so I gravitated towards pops of turquoise. If I have to choose a statement color, turquoise would be it. If you're not all about the color, you can simply pair your joggers with a light stripe blazer and minimal jewelry for a comfy chic going-out look. I like how this blazer adds a structural tone to the entire look.

P.S. if you guys ever visit Chapel Hill here in NC, you have to try the YOPO here. Short for Yogurt Pump. Not only are the flavors to die for (my favorites are cake batter, mango, and alpine vanilla), but yopo is also healthy. Well... until you add the sprinkles and toppings, that is - ha! Their flavors are all either nonfat or low-fat AKA guiltless treats!

What are your favorite frozen yogurt flavors?! Are there any interesting ones out there??
I'd love to hear about them in the comments!

P.S. Entered my Shop Konfetti Giveaway yet?! You can win an item of YOUR CHOICE.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Peach Please

The minute these navy jogger pants arrived in the mail, I literally put them on and wore them out to a quick trip to the Southpoint Mall in Durham. I used to restrict myself only to skinny jeans and pants that were fitting and flattering for my body type because I was too hesitant of how anything else would look on me - but more importantly, what people would think of me. Which brings me to what I wanted to really talk about today.

You can't please everyone.
I used to sometimes still am, a people pleaser. I don't like to disappoint people and I certainly try my best to make others happy. Sometimes I see it as a flaw, or a weakness, or maybe a side effect of my perfectionism (is that a word??). But whatever the reason, I wanted to rant a little about what I think of people who just cannot be pleased. No matter what you do.

"You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there's still going to be somebody who hates peaches." - Dita Von Teese

What does it matter what people think anyway? I don't want to sound hypocritical by any means, because even I need this reminder sometimes. Your opinion is the only thing that matters. People are going to hate on you, say mean things about you, say mean things to you... who. even. cares. Those people are the ones you should feel sorry for because they're the ones missing out on how great of a person you are.

Over the years as a blogger, I've been stepping out of my comfort zone to tackle different styles that I wanted to try. For myself. The Grace five years ago would have probably refused to try on a pair of jogger pants, but I decided to embrace it. And I'm glad I did.
I meaaan, I feel like I'm wearing pajamas bottoms out in public. Talk about comfort and trendy, at the same time. B O O M .
*insert fist emoji*

I know I ranted a little too much, but I hope you guys enjoyed reading my thoughts about this. What are some inspirational things you do to help you get your mind off of these people? I'd love to hear them!
