Best Cherry Blossom Photo Spots in Central Park

Best Cherry Blossom Photo Spots in Central Park Blog Post.png

It’s no secret that Central Park is blooming right now. Central Park is quite magical in every season, but in the Spring, you’ll notice a different type of energy in the air. Maybe it’s the end of a cold winter or the vibrancy of the blooms putting a smile on everyone’s faces, or the warm sunshine teasing us with what’s to come of the warmer months… but whatever it is, Spring is a season worth experiencing in a place like Central Park.

Pilgrim Hill

How to get there: I recommend entering the Park at East 72nd Street and 5th Avenue.

This is one of my favorite cherry blossom spots because there’s a ton of trees scattered on Pilgrim Hill. You’ll find shades of white to pink in this area. It’s also one of the spots that’s very crowded this time of year because you’ll see that ever…

It’s also one of the spots that’s very crowded this time of year because you’ll see that everyone is wanting to get their ‘cherry blossom’ content in.

I shot in this spot with Shelly a few days ago and we were able to get some great photos at 9am. I recommend walking down from the Fountain towards the water where you’re overlooking the San Remo apartments.

How to get there: closest entrance is East 72nd and 5th Ave.

I stumbled across this little area by accident — I was walking back home towards the East Side when I spotted this quaint little spot in between Cherry Hill, Bethesda Fountain and The Mall. I actually ended up getting some work done in this spot because it was quiet and empty.

For these trees, you can enter from the Upper West Side 72nd and Central Park West for a closer shot of the San Remo apartments.

Here are some fun facts about the San Remo apartments:

1) The two towers are not symmetrical. The floors of the south tower are larger.

2) Steven Spielberg, Donna Karan, Demi Moore, Dustin Hoffman, and Steve Martin are a few of the influential people living in the San Remo.

3) The San Remo was built in 1930 by Emory Roth as the first two-towered building in the city.

For this shot, when you enter Engineers’ Gate, take a left and walk down the dirt path until you see a row of cherry blossom trees. You can’t miss these.

And I know this blog post is only highlighting spots in Central Park, but I had to include a few from Roosevelt Island.

Roosevelt Island

How to get there: these trees are located right near the tram. When you exit the tram, take a left and you’ll see an entire row of cherry blossoms by the water overlooking the Upper East Side.
